Shitty Interview No.56
A quick ‘Natalie Krim’ image search, in addition to some gorgeous portraits of her, will curate a mix of erotic illustrations on vintage or notebook paper, often featuring girls in lingerie in all kinds of carnal positions. One that first stood out to me featured a lovely young rosy-cheeked women riding a massive, flying, squirting penis. I’ve said it before & I will say it again, dick drawings will never get old!
But when you look a little closer at Natalie’s work & all of the characters she creates, it takes on a whole new meaning, as though she is giving us the opportunity to read (or see) her most intimate thoughts, one’s that most of us would prefer to keep hidden. The first quick glance will make you smile, the double take will make you feel something.
Natalie describes her latest body of work as “a heart-wrenching love letter that seeks to understand love, & to find comfort through the intimate entwinement of sexual experiences.”
In addition to her recent solo art exhibition in LA, Natalie was personally invited by Livefast Magazine editor, Vivianne Lapointe to be part of their ‘Secret Society’, a revolving selection of strong, sexual women who will curate & model a collection of lingerie that complements their unique aesthetic & silhouette. Vivianne chose Olivia Shove as the lead photographer for this project for her feminist perspective & talent for highlighting natural beauty in her work. Everything is shot on 35mm film & polaroids & the women in these photos have not been retouched.
Here is a selection of those images along with our Shitty Interview with Natalie Krim. Enjoy 🙂
