Ethan Wright ‘Cold club’
Shot on film just hours before their muse Kaapo jumped on a flight back to Europe, Photographer Ethan Wright and stylist Andi Sherry teamed up to create a raw fashion editorial set at an abandoned country club and a DIY skatepark. Andi gives us the rundown on shoot day.
“The floor was littered with broken glass and old aircon units hung precariously above us, ready to fall at any moment. We got told off for being there, but played it cool, claiming to be uni students working on a project, all the while half-expecting the police to show up. After that, we wandered a few hundred metres down the road to a DIY skatepark built by the local skate community, which became our next backdrop. It was a cold winter’s day, and Ethan captured everything on a Canon Elan 7. With Kaapo flying back to Europe the next morning, the whole shoot felt both reckless and perfectly timed after months of planning. The fashion mirrors this sense of effortless timing, channeling a 90s attitude through pared-back silhouettes, easy layering, and a cool nonchalance that resonates with the raw, gritty surroundings.”
