Sofiya Loriashvili ‘From London to Corfu’

Paris based creative Sofiya loriashvili brings us a series about travel captured in confinement.

“It seeks to revisit the contemporary travel inspired by the great towers of the second half of the 19th century. Each piece is a paradox between utility & aesthetics, interpreting with visual humour the traditional codes of travel. The tones of the collection are inspired by both the visual codes of airlines as well as safari sets. By operating as a kit of objects that stack & compact, excessively bulky parts are reduced to construction minimalism. It was very important for me to work on both clothes & objects to create a kit that can actually be used by passing not the travel slippers, the neck cushion, the toilet bag. I also found it very ironic to work on travel at a time when no one travels.”
