Sticks & Stones Shitty Interview No. 102

Jaleesa Vincent is fucking hard to describe because you’ve never met anyone like her – a quirky & edgy eccentric whose style could not possibly ooze more originality. Jaleesa is an Australian artist, musician & professional surfer. She’s as weird as she is cool. You could find her at the pub tap dancing along with her seven-piece love band Cupid & the Stupids, or, at home in her bedroom making obscure jewellery. Originally from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, she now resides on the outskirts of Byron Bay in New South Wales. At just age twenty-one, it’s clear this is the very beginning for Jaleesa.

Sticks & Stones: Favourite Nickleback song?
Jaleesa Vincent: ‘How you remind me’. Gives me goosebumps.

Sticks & Stones: Does looking at the sun make you sneeze?
Jaleesa Vincent: Yup, I love it. If no one is around I’ll sneeze as gross as I can & watch the germs spray in the sunlight.

Sticks & Stones: Strangest gift you’ve given?
Jaleesa Vincent: Last week I recorded myself playing ‘Smells like teen spirit’ on guitar for my friend Nirvana’s birthday present.

Sticks & Stones: Fight or flight?
Jaleesa Vincent: I want to say fight. But probably flight, or say something pathetic & then run.

Sticks & Stones: Weirdest thing you own?
Jaleesa Vincent: A colony of Dermestid beetles.

Sticks & Stones: What’s the worst smell in the world?
Jaleesa Vincent: Road kill.

Sticks & Stones: And the best?
Jaleesa Vincent: Onion and garlic on a fry pan.

Sticks & Stones: Favourite item of clothing?
Jaleesa Vincent: My cowgirl boots.

Sticks & Stones: Last thing you choked on?
Jaleesa Vincent: Eggplant.

Sticks & Stones: What’s the meaning of life?
Jaleesa Vincent: I do know that eventually..
