Sticks & Stones Shitty Interview No.126
Following the recent release of her new project from Underground Tokyo, today we have the pleasure of Shitty Interviewing our dear friend and artist RHYME.
RHYME drives deep on her own lane in a self-titled genre of her own. Through poetry and sound she masterfully collides the newness of our ever-changing world with the echoes of the genres that have marked both cities and decades on their own such as Rock & Roll, Spoken Word, Electronic, Electro/Techno, Hip Hop, and Experimental. RHYME plays the saxophone (alto and Soprano), the Japanese koto, and the piano, programming her compositions on Ableton.
Discovered in Japan as the muse of “RHYME.SO”, a collaborating unit made up by a legend of the Japanese music scene, Shinichi Osawa, RHYME shows us that beyond muse, she’s also an artist… and one with extraordinary talents for songwriting & production. Hence, RHYME has garnered accolades from BILLBOARD, ATTITUDE, FLAUNT Magazine, Women in Pop, EARMILK, and other staples in the industry.
This project consists of 4 singles and 1 mix spaced out over 2 weeks of release air. ‘Hatsuyume’ means first dream and this was based around RHYME’s first dream of the year. The tough sounds and penetrating bass mixed with delicate koto and experimental relics will leave a lasting impression. The project includes a lineup of high profile feature artists and visual artists to match.

Rhyme: An app to end all apps. AND remind thee of interacting with each other in real life. Stranger or not.
Sticks & Stones: List five songs on the soundtrack to your life.
