Sasha ‘Its all in the detail’
Russia creative, Sasha gives us a look into her world of quirky close up photography.
“I cannot portray myself as a real photographer, I am just a girl inspired by girls. I have been taking pictures for a short period of time now, so I am still looking for what is closer to me, for my individual style. However, I can say for sure I am obsessed with details despite the fact I am always asked when I am going to capture panoramic views, not these ‘detailed images’. I answer ‘never’ because I am convinced that panoramic views, the whole image is available for everybody, can be easily seen unlike details which are frequently omitted.
I am also fond of the idea of depersonalization as to my mind such things as ‘face’, ‘person’, ‘individual’ can be hardly defined in terms of art now. This issue seems to be the most controversial & essential for me, that is why there are almost no faces in my pics. I am afraid ‘face’ is no more an art object, it has lost any value.”
