Sander Dekker ‘Meander & Nausicaa (NSFW)’
Sander Dekker describes his photography style as playful, capturing authentic essence, celebrating individuality, and empowering narratives. Today the Amsterdam creative brings us his latest series starring friends Meander and Nausicaa.
“The work I exhibit in art galleries and my books is always part of a large documentary series featuring people I approach to collaborate. One day, Meander (who is also a photographer herself) approached me to take some photos of her and a friend, not for any specific project but simply driven by our shared love for photography. I thought, “Cool, let’s try something different.” The result is a collection of photos taken with a direct hard flash, yet possessing a softness – an almost dance-like feel. In addition to that, our inner child emerged, and we indulged in playful experimentation with a kaleidoscope, adding some fun to it .
