Marina Monaco ‘Milano Centrale’
Marina Mónaco is a 24-year-old photographer, director & cinematographer from Buenos & no stranger to this website. She develops the topic of youth from a nostalgic point of view as her personal work signature. She manages to create a cinematic & intimate atmosphere by using saturated colours &
digital & analogue formats such as film, VHS/Hi8 & super 8. It’s no secret that we are massive fans of Marina & today it is a pleasure to feature her latest series starring Cecilia in Milan.
“I found Cecilia randomly on instagram. These are intimate raw pictures in her nostalgic room & at the famous station “Milano Centrale” where all the skaters & her friends hang out. While doing the shooting (with Sonic Youth in the background) we had a nice conversation (in terrible English) about the youth culture in Milan, music & our lives. I thought back on all of my insecurities as an 18-year-old & it was so nice to realize that something was finally changing in young girls!”
