Atisha Paulson ‘She said come over’

Atisha Paulson is back with yet another beautiful series, starring fellow NYC creative, Chelsea Sweitzer.

“That’s one of the best things about instagram, you meet someone randomly, online, who happens to live in NYC (or wherever), reach out & the next thing you know, you’re knocking on their door.

She didn’t know me. I didn’t know her. But I liked her face & she liked my work so she said come over & so there I was, walking up 3 flights of stairs, knocking at the door, tentatively but firm, waiting for what was going to happen next.

She opened the door. I never know what to do next; handshake, hug, kiss on the cheek? It’s like you know the person, but you don’t. We hugged.

She offered me something cold to drink & I accepted. I looked around as she poured the lemonade. Her one bedroom apartment was just like her, cool in an effortless sorta way. But the light had passed the South-East facing windows so I asked if she had a roof we could shoot on. She said there was one but that it had been locked down due to construction. We checked anyway. The door pushed open & everything else was just the way you see it in the pics.”
