Dan Simantov ‘Stardust (NSFW)’
Growing up in Los Angeles, Dan Siman-Tov always wanted to be like everyone else at lunch with their perfect PB & J sandwiches. “My smelly Mediterranean left-over lunches taught me to embrace my rich historical & ancestral roots which today empower me to create unique visual content. As a human, I find myself creating narratives of intriguing individuals. As a photographer, it’s my mission to tell the story of these characters through a lens.”
Today we bring you a debut series & our SHOOT OF THE WEEK by Dan Siman-Tov. This is ‘Stardust ‘.
“Drive two & a half hours north of Los Angeles & one will transport themselves into a terrestrial planet covered with rolling sand dunes. Two figures appear from a mirage, they look human, however their energy seems surreal. The intergalactic ladies arise from the stardust like a phoenix. This composite was inspired by 1960’s Las Vegas showgirls, vintage postcards & Salvador Dali’s surrealism; all three share the commonality of marvel & desire.”
