Audrey Krako ‘The ’66’’

Recently photographer, Audrey Krako lived out her dream of travelling the full length of Route ’66’ (aka the mother road of America), starting at Chicago & weaving over 2500 miles, through 8 states to Santa Monica on the west coast. Here is what she told us about her gorgeous travel series…

“Route ’66 has got to be one of the most photographed places on the planet so it was really important to me to inject my own style into the more traditional documentary images of the route. The series was also in parts a collaborative project with Tom Grounds assisting with some direction & poloroid film provided by The Impossible Project. Another aim was to capture places & parts of the journey that may otherwise have been forgotten or bypassed & capture the route in manner that could be seen as timeless as the road itself.”
