Maty Chevriére ‘The suburbs of Tokyo’
For her latest editorial, Maty Chevrière meets her team in the suburbs of Tokyo.
“The area is called Suginami-ku, such a beautiful area full of typical Japanese houses. They were taking around a 鳥居 (torii), It means shrine in Japanese & It’s s a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred. We really wanted to show the real Japanese culture that surrounds this amazing country full of traditions & respect.”
